This course on Port Management and Strategic Masterplanning covers all essential aspects of modern management in the port, from strategy development to the implementation of a successful port management model.
Efficient management and organisation of a port authority involves making important strategic decisions. During this online course we will discuss how to manage your financials, develop or review your masterplan, formulate your port development strategy and manage the strategic projects in your port.
Port masterplanning is an essential part of port design and development. A port masterplan explains the reason of existence of a port to all stakeholders involved.
We will discuss the factors to be included in port masterplanning, the importance of stakeholder management and the sustainable development of ports, illustrated by several port masterplans.

Even an experienced port professional needs tools, concepts and a network. This programme gives port managers the opportunity to extensively discuss themes like port planning and development, innovation, stakeholder management and port commercial business with international and experienced professionals. During the course, we will visit the Port of Antwerp, Port of Zeebrugge and North Sea Port (Ghent). Site visits include several logistics companies and terminals within the Port of Antwerp.

– You will be able to assess the different aspects of developing a new port masterplan and obtain the skills to review an existing masterplan.
This programme is targeted towards experienced port professionals who are facing challenges related to making the right decisions on port development and investments while taking into account the disruptive elements of a globally changing economy.
For: executive directors and managers that are active in overall port management, port (development) strategy, regional development strategy (with ports as a driver for regional development), planning & development (commercial and infrastructure) and port relations (port-government-communities).
Course fee: €4.000
The registration fee covers the tuition fee, documentation, local transport during the course, breakfast, lunch and dinner (full board), accommodation at Mercure City South Antwerp**** (14d/13n) and insurance.
International transport, airport transfer, visa costs, extra meals and nights at the hotel are at your own expense. Extra nights at the hotel need to be arranged directly with the reservation desk of the hotel: HB664-RE@accor.com.
Please note that the registration fee must be received by APEC in full; meaning all national and international taxes, bank costs etc. need to be covered by the participant.
