Why this course?

As we are now facing challenges such as long periods of drought, a growing population, reduction of CO2 emissions, polluted rivers, seas and soils,… the importance of understanding how the process of dredging can be performed safely, efficiently and cost-effectively way combined with attention for the marine ecosystem and its marine biodiversity becomes more and more important. It is a must and a challenge for todays’ ports.

Two major dredging companies, DEME Group and Jan De Nul Group, are based in Belgium and bring a substantial contribution to the programme, including engaging activities, inspiring field excursions, dredger simulators, etc. Also included in the programme are site visits in the port of Antwerp, the port of Zeebrugge and North Sea Port (Ghent).

For whom

Everyone who is faced with managerial or operational aspects of the dredging business, such as dredging contractors and those involved in dredging projects at offshore companies, port authorities, construction companies, conservation agencies. project owners working for governments, coastal engineering companies, dredging contractors and other organisations. The programme is open to both technical and non-technical professionals.

Practical details

The agenda of the course will be communicated before the start. Over the 2 weeks in Antwerp, participants will experience a true immersive experience in our port community. They will get the chance to network with their international peers and with the companies represented. Visits will include not only the Antwerp Community, but also Zeebrugge and Gent.

Registration fee:
The registration fee includes all course material, personal coaching from our experts during the entire duration of the course and a certificate of completion.
For their stay in Antwerp it includes hotel accommodation (14d/13n), local transport, all meals during course days & insurance.
Visa costs, international travel & airport transfers are not included.
